Alice Leal has published two books at the interface of translation with language policies: English and Translation in the European Union (open source: PDF) and Language Policy and the Future of Europe. A Conversation with Seán Ó Rian. Leal has co-edited (with Larisa Cercel) the collection The Translator’s Visibility. New Debates and Epistemologies. She is also co-editor of a new journal: Philosophy of Translation.

David M. Spitzer has edited the book Philosophy’s Treason: Studies in Philosophy and Translation (PDF sample) and co-edited (with Paulo Oliveira) the collection Transfiction and Bordering Approaches to Theorizing Translation. Essays in Dialogue with the Work of Rosemary Arrojo. His latest book at the interface of philosophy with translation is Parmenides & Translation. Figures of Motion, Figures of Being, to appear by Peter Lang (see review by Bruno Palavro and Paulo Oliveira, forthcoming in the aforementioned journal Philosophy of Translation, in English and Portuguese).

Larisa Cercel, our third guest, could not fit our meeting in her schedule. Additionally to the aforementioned title co-edited with Alice Leal, we would like to point to her work at the Forschungszentrum Hermeneutik und Kreativität and to a new book title: Translation as Event. Performing and Staging Translations (PDF sample).
