Enrollment

The enrollment process for graduate studies at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) is detailed in the Regulations for Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching. Enrollment is granted to candidates approved in the selection process adopted by the university, to students accredited through national or international agreements, to special students, and to students transferred ex officio, in accordance with the legal provisions (link to ex officio transfer).

Enrollment is finalized upon the submission and delivery of the documents required in a specific call for applications, in addition to the registration in curricular components of the course. For international students, certificates of completion, diplomas, and transcripts must be accompanied by an official translation. UFBA may cancel the enrollment at any time if false or invalid documentation is detected.

Semester registration in curricular components is carried out based on the course’s curriculum structure, respecting prerequisites and corequisites. Semester enrollment is mandatory; failure to enroll may result in cancellation.

Additionally, UFBA offers exchange programs that allow students to temporarily study at other institutions to engage in academic, scientific, artistic, or cultural activities at higher education institutions or research centers in Brazil or abroad. Participation in these programs requires meeting minimum criteria, such as completing at least 20% of the course and having an activity plan approved by the host institution. Dual degree programs, known as co-tutelle, are particularly encouraged by the PPGF.
